Think you have what it takes to be the next MasterChef Korea or you simply have a strong interest in Korean Cuisine?

Happening on 6 July, the Hansik Contest will be taking place at Our Tampines Hub (Culinary Studio) for its second edition and will revolve around the theme “Global Taste of Korea”. The event is organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Singapore (Korean Embassy).

Time to put your culinary skills to the test and bring your A-Game to the kitchen as all participating teams will have to whip up a common Korean classic dish – Japchae (Stir-fried Glass Noodles) and a Chicken Dish of their choice (think Samgye-tang (Ginseng Chicken Soup), Buldak (Spicy Chicken Dish) or even Korean Fried Chicken! 🍗), within 60 minutes!

12 shortlisted teams will battle it out and stand a chance to win cash prizes up to $500 as well as a trip to Korea to compete in a cooking contest! 👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳 (Pro Tip: Extra points will be given to participants who upload a video of themselves flexing their Korean cooking skills on their Facebook Page!)

Here’s a highlight video of what went down during the Hansik Contest in 2017.

Take on the challenge to show off your culinary skills and you might just walk away with bragging rights as the Hansik Cooking Master in Singapore! All this writing about Korean food is already making me crave for it (at least I know what I’m gonna have for dinner tonight). Hwaiting (All the best) to all the participating teams and may the best K-Chef win!
